Using Conception Calendars

A conception calander is useful in charting the best times in a given month for conception, having safe sex without the fear of pregnancy, determining your baby's gender, and calculating the date of conception and estimated due date during pregnancy. A conception calander is easy to find online, and to begin, you just have to enter information regarding the length of your cycle and menstruation if you are planning to conceive, or your last period date or possible conception date if pregnancy is suspected.

Daily use of a conception calander requires that you enter specific information at a set time each day, to provide the most accurate readings, and also keep a bedside journal for your notes. The best time to record the most accurate basal temperature is upon first waking, preferably in the morning. You will find that your basal temperature will remain low up to the point of ovulation, when it spikes, and goes back down again gradually, or remains higher than normal if pregnancy occurs. Other things you will want to record on a daily basis are the presence of cervical mucous or spotting, whether the cervix is high or low, and feels hard, medium, or soft, symptoms you might be experiencing, and whether you are taking a fertility drug, birth control pill, or have had intercourse. Over time, you will notice a pattern to your cycle, and will know when to expect ovulation, menstruation, or when it is best to have sex, just by your symptoms.
