Early childhood crafts
Almost all children are eager to learn. They have an almost inherent desire to be like their parents and frequently mimic their parents actions. This includes trying to create the things that they see their parents involved with. By allowing your child to participate in early childhood crafts, you are teaching your child not only how to learn a new skill but building their self-esteem and confidence.
Early childhood crafts should be simple to make in order to allow the child the best chance of succeeding with the craft. In addition, early childhood crafts don't necessarily require expensive materials. They can frequently be created with ordinary household items.
For example, you and your child can create an apple from a lunch bag stuffed with newspaper and tied closed. The bag can then be painted red, brown for the stem, and have a green leaf attached at the stem. While creating your apple you can use the activity to teach your child that "A is for apple."
Another easy and simple early childhood craft is made with balloons and paint. Blow up the balloons and dip the tops in paint. Swirl the painted balloons on white paper to create interesting designs. Remember, when using balloons to always monitor their use carefully to prevent accidents.
Creating early childhood crafts together with your child is an excellent way to bond with your child. It will encourage your child to try new things, promote his/her self-confidence, and create memories for you and your child that will last a lifetime.
