Ideas for decorating nursery for newborn baby

Making your baby's nursery great

Before you welcome your baby into the world, you and your family should discuss ideas for decorating the nursery for your newborn baby. There are literally hundreds of options open to you, depending on your space, personal taste, and personal style. Do you dream of a classic, traditional nursery filled with characters and decorations from nursery rhymes? A Mother Goose theme could be exactly what the doctor ordered. Keeping a theme color will give class and the illusion of more space to the room. Why not sketch out a few key drawings and try to stick to your vision? Besides a rocking chair, bassinet, cradle and stimulating toys, other ideas for decorating the nursery for your newborn baby include special wall paper or border images.

Don't feel confined by gender stereotypes. A girl does not necessarily require a pink room, nor a boy a blue room. If yellow, green, orange, purple or other shades do the room justice, go for it. You can also buy a cute music box to soothe your newborn to sleep, or some dangling toys to keep him or her entertained when they wake up. Don't forget, though: babies grow extremely fast! What seems cute for an infant will not be as cute when they are one, two or three years old. If you're dead set on a specific theme, make sure it stands the test of time, or you and your husband could be stuck re-decorating every few years. A final activity to consider is a mural covering one or all of the walls, painted by you and / or your loved ones. This is a great project that brings everyone together and makes the family all feel specially connected to the new baby (especially older siblings who may already feel jealous.) Above all, have fun!
