Sources of Comfort for New Parents

The past nine months have been exhilarating, scary, wonderful, nerve-wracking, exhausting, fantastic - I name it, you've felt it! But now you're a new mom or dad, bringing home your first bundle of joy from the pediatrics ward or birthing center. You've probably read all the classic books like What to Expect When You're Expecting, but what about What to Expect After You (or your Wife) Gave Birth? That's where parenting magazines come in. Where can you find a good magazine for a parent? Check out your local book store, or better yet, bundle your baby up and stroll them for a walk down to the library. A good magazine for a parent will include up-to-date information, advice columns, question and answer sections, and seasonal fun tips.

The reason I suggested the library for your magazine hunting is because information on babies and children is constantly being updated and adapted to fit modern times. Why spend money here and there on a few magazines, or even on a yearly subscription, when you can locate the best, newest data for free? And it gives you another reason to get out of the house and possibly even talk with other new parents about their own trials, tribulations and joys. Maybe you need reassurance that your baby's colic is manageable, or tips on how to treat diaper rash. Maybe you just want to unwind with some humor
articles, essays or short fiction. Parenting magazines have it all, no matter what age your rug rat is.
