Ovulation conception and implantation
When Is The Best Time To Get Pregnant
Knowing when ovulation occurs is the best bet to help gain conception and implantation of a fertilized egg. The most common belief is that implantation takes place 7 days after ovulation. The truth is that after ovulation, implantation can happen anywhere from 6 to 12 days. Studies show that early pregnancy loss is related to late implantation. Those whose fertilized egg implants on day 12 have a higher percent chance of having a miscarriage.
Many women who are trying to conceive choose to use home ovulation tests because they have proven to be accurate. These are urine tests that are used just like pregnancy tests, but gage whether you are ovulating or not. For the best results, you must have sex during the time you are ovulating. Usually the day before and day of ovulation have the best results. The best time to take a pregnancy test is a week after ovulation, because conception takes place and shows up on a pregnancy test after implantation. If the pregnancy test comes back negative, do not give up but try again next month. If the test comes back positive consult your doctor to get everything checked out and confirm your test results.
If you are using the calculating ovulation method and still are not getting pregnant do not worry. Some people take up to a year before this method works. You may want to consult a doctor if you have been trying for over a year, if you are worried your age is a factor, or can not successfully calculate ovulation because of irregular cycles.
