Parenting Made Easy
Let's select a nursery dresser and changing tables for your baby

Selecting nursery dresser and changing tables

When selecting a nursery dresser and changing tables safety must be your first and primary consideration. After you have assured yourself the safety of your nursery dresser and changing tables, then you can select styles, materials, designs, and decorations to fit in with the overall theme of your nursery.

To begin with your nursery dresser and changing tables should come with straps to hold the baby during changing. There should be a railing around the changing area to prevent the baby from rolling off the top. If your nursery dresser and changing tables do not come with straps, you should purchases some separately and install them yourself. Baby accessories should be conveniently stored nearby so that you don't have to turn your back on the infant once it is on top of the changing table. Never, not even for a second, turn your back on an infant on a changing table. They can roll off faster than you can blink your eyes.

Nursery dressers and changing tables come in a wide variety of styles, materials, and designs. Their price range reflects this variety. For example, a hand-crafted, Amish dresser/changing table combination in solid wood, with no man-made materials runs about $1,300, and takes eight to ten weeks to produce. At the other end of the spectrum, a pine wood, three drawer dresser/changing table combination from the Emily Collection runs about $315 and takes between two to three weeks to be delivered. And, Wal-Mart offers a combination dresser/changing table for as little as $90.

As you can see, nursery dressers and changing tables come in a wide variety of styles and price ranges, but the most important thing to consider when you purchase one is to make certain it will be safe for your baby.
