The day after conception - early symptoms of pregnancy
While most early signs of pregnancy don't occur until a few weeks after conception, there are a few things you can look for if you think you are pregnant.
The day after conception, early symptoms of pregnancy can include a drop in temperature. This happens almost immediately upon implantation. This drop in temperature can be accompanied by implantation bleeding, i.e., light spotting but not a menstrual period. The day after conception, early symptoms can also include cramps, similar to menstrual cramps, can also accompany both implantation and implantation bleeding.
The day after conception, early symptoms may also include a darkening of the areola, the colored part of the breast nipple. Your breast may also become swollen and tender to the touch. You may also feel excessively tired and sleepy, and need a nap in the afternoon to restore your energy levels.
As your pregnancy progresses other symptoms become more noticeable.Among these is morning sickness, which can last all day, or occur only in the mornings or only in evenings. Morning sickness usually occurs sometime around the tenth day after conception, but may not start until the fourth week of your pregnancy. It usually subsides around the twelfth week of your pregnancy. However, some pregnant women suffer from it throughout their pregnancies.
Around the tenth day after conception, the pregnant woman's hCG levels should have increased enough that a pregnancy test will return with a positive reading. hCG is the pregnancy hormone that body starts producing upon conception. This hormone is responsible for many of the changes a pregnant woman experiences including mood swings, body temperature changes, morning sickness, etc.
